Know a future nurse or doctor? The second inaugural Scrubs Academy hosted by Carl Sandburg College’s Corporate & Leisure College is the perfect opportunity for them to explore the field of health care.
The Scrubs Academy is a summer enrichment program for students 11-15 years old and is designed to give them an opportunity to experience health care careers through simulated activities, hospital tours and guest speakers. The program will meet from 9 a.m.-noon July 17-19.
Sandburg has partnered with Galesburg Cottage Hospital and OSF HealthCare to provide the following exciting opportunities for Scrubs Academy participants:
July 17 — Galesburg Cottage Hospital
- Facility tour with demonstrations and simulated activities
July 18 — OSF St. Mary Medical Center
- Facility tour with demonstrations and simulated activities
July 19 — Carl Sandburg College
- Nursing simulation lab demonstration
- Overview of the dental hygiene field
Cost is $40 with a registration deadline of July 3. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Each registered student receives a T-shirt.
